PaySika is a fintech that develops a set of banking solutions for French-speaking African countries starting with Central Africa, where more than 80% of the population has no access to banking services . Thanks to a very friendly and multicultural team, we share the common goal of becoming the first super financial application in Central Africa, enabling users to shop globally, track their expenses, receive money easily from abroad, etc. We launched in November 2022 a first of its kind mobile app in Cameroon with a free VISA card, card to card transfer, transfer to other mobile money wallets, deposit in the card from the confort of home.

Responsibilities:
Define, Implement, update(whenever necessary) the AML/FT, Fraud procedure for the company.
Write specification on regulatory requirements for the technical team to implement them,
Dealing and being the point of contact for the regulators, our partners banks and EME,
Conducting compliance risk assessment training workshops
Update and ensure the right KYC process is in place as require by the regulator,
Conducting operational audits to ensure the company meets operational requirements with respect to the law,
Build the compliance team from scratch,
Write specifications on transactions/users Screening and flagging,
Monitor suspicious users flagged by the system,
Reporting on compliance/Fraud cases or behaviours,
Update and write a process to control more efficiently users’ KYC,
Monitor users’ in sanction lists, PEP, and take immediate appropriate actions,
Put in place KPIs to track AML, Fraud evolution in the company and update the AML/Fraud/Data Protection procedures wherever necessary to meet Those KPIs,
Write a specification on the features to include in the Front office to ease tracking of Bad behaviours and right application of procedures,
Fostering compliance culture throughout the entire team,
Monitor any legal and regulatory changes from the central bank and update the various operational procedures,
Engage with the regulator for each new product that we plan to launch,
Participation in the elaboration of an annual action plan for the fight against fraud and money laundering;
Ensure PaySika procedures are following international best practices,
Requirements:
Master’s degree in finance, accounting, law, business management, or related field
3+ years’ exposure in the compliance role in a financial insitution(Banks, EME, Microfinance institutions, etc) in the Central Africa(CEMAC)region or internationally
You know GAFI recommendations
Have a THOROUGH knowledge of local and regional banking regulations,
A professional certification in Compliance Management will be an added advantage
Excellent written and oral communication as well as organization.
Ability to work under pressure in a competitive environment
Result oriented attitude, independent and unsupervised
Fully bilingual: French and English.
